Quick save and autosave
In the menu: the Quick save and Quick load tiles at the top of ⚙, and ⚙ → Saves → Load autosave.
Two save slots of the toolkit's own, next to the game's: they never take a slot of the game's save screen, and with cloud sync they follow you to your other devices like the game's saves.
Quick save
| On | Quick save | Quick load |
|---|---|---|
| Anywhere | ⚙ → the Quick save tile | ⚙ → the Quick load tile |
| PC | F6 | F7 |
Quick save works on the map, outside events and messages, and also where the game itself does not let you save (some sites turn that off). Each quick save replaces the previous one. Quick load asks first, since progress since the quick save is lost; it works from the title screen too, but not during a battle.
Autosave
Every 5 minutes of play on the map, and when you switch away from the browser (phones often close it in the background), the game is saved to the autosave slot. Nothing is saved while you are idle. Load it with ⚙ → Saves → Load autosave, which shows where and when it was made.
The game's own autosave (MZ, slot Autosave) works as before.
Keeping saves in the browser
At the first save, the toolkit asks the browser to keep this site's data: without that, a browser short on space may delete it. Firefox shows a prompt for it: allow it. On an iPhone or iPad, Safari may still clear the data of a site you have not opened for 7 days, unless it is added to the Home Screen; with cloud sync on, the saves come back from the cloud.
The keys do nothing when one of the game's plugins already uses them. Some sites have quick save or the autosave turned off by the person who set up the game or by the game's creator.
